Educate me please

Looking into Billfort cabs for my 604-168's.

First question would be if these are going to be good for these drivers? I will keep the screamer cabs in the garage so no worries there

Next I am hoping some of you smart guys could give me a correct port size for the triangle ports. I saw somewhere he had tuned to 40 with 1 1/2" length but had no real dimensions anywhere. Any help would be rewarded with the great feeling of helping me.

The 604-168's were designed for bi-amping so they weren't manufactured with a factory crossover...I think the Stanley Screamer cabs you have are really the best cabinet for them... I'm not sure how they would sound in a cabinet like Billforts... IIRC he modeled them around the volume of the 620 cab,at 9 cubic feet.

I will continue to bi-amp and would be having 4 cabinets built. Are these drivers really so much diferent from the later models, my understanding was that they were just made for higher power applications.

Also from reading the altec brochure for the 604-168 they state the these are for use in the altec 620B cabinets which are 9 cubic feet.

Well....other than different cone voice coil, etc they are the same...

IOW resonance and all other specs are different.
